X-88 Detergent-Activated Acid Cleaner

X-88 is a balanced blend of high efficiency detergents and a strong mineral acid. This versatile combination cuts through dried concrete residues on trucks, chutes, forms, shovels, trowels or any place excess mortar is a problem. The wetting agents contained in X-88 are a valuable time saver, they penetrate soils and mineral deposits faster and more effectively than simple muriatic acid.

X-88 is just the cleaner for removing smoke and industrial pollution on buildings and masonary. Accumulations of soot and fallout can usually be removed in one application, leaving bricks and painted surfaces in like-new condition!

DIRECTIONS

• Apply the X-88 solution with a stiff bristle brush and allow to stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Brush off loosened concrete or flush off with a high pressure spray, then follow with a thorough rinse.

Extremely thick accumulations may require a second application.

• All spent acid solutions must be neutralized to a pH above 6 and below 9 with soda ash or sodium bicarbonate. Care must be taken when neutralizing large amounts of X-88 with soda ash or sodium carbonate as large amounts of carbon dioxide are generated producing foaming and effervescence. A small amount of defoamer may be added to knock down the foam produced.

If the scale being removed contains copper or other heavy metal residues, additional pretreatment may be required if spent acid contains large amounts of these heavy metals.
